Spectrum Builders' portfolio is made up of various types of commercial and residential construction projects, ranging from a few hundred dollars to multi-million dollar projects. From renovating 200 year old antique homes, where complete demolition and reconstruction was required -- to a small 1950's style ranch which was transformed into a sprawling custom modern home in North Salem N.Y.,-- Spectrum Builders has collaborated with architects to design many different custom homes, as well as commercial construction projects.
Using only the finest materials and craftsmanship, Spectrum Builders achieves a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that its construction projects are built to last many generations.
Spectrum Builders was started by Carter Joffe, a native of Connecticut. He grew up in Darien surrounded by a family of entrepruneurs. As the second of three sons, Carter's father and grandfather taught him carpentry and at an early age, he began building jewelry boxes and lamps as gifts. As his skill improved, he began building furniture and cabinets to sell. By age 16, Carter became more comfortable in his craft as well as his role as a businessman, so he expanded his portfolio by building decks, custom closet systems, skylights, libraries and small additions.
While still in high school, Carter started working for a construction company that built concrete mausoleums. This broadened the exposure that he needed to supplement the diverse experience necessary to be a successful building contractor. Along with carpentry and concrete structures, a knowledge of foundation work was an important aspect needed for the future of his profession.
